Holds
Place a Hold
You can click Place Hold or Hold from the following locations to begin.
- You can place a hold from the Details display and, on some systems, from the Search Results hit list.
- You can place a hold from a list of Kept Records by using the Hold Selected Items form.
Once you have selected to hold an item, do the following.
- Type in your Library User ID or alternate ID.
- Type in your PIN.
- If available, select a Library for item pickup.
- If available, change the Expiration date for the item.
- If available, change the Suspension Start and Suspension End dates for the item.
- Click Hold or Place Holds to place the hold or click Cancel to reset session variables.
Edit a Hold
You can edit a hold from My Library Account.
- Click Review My Library Account.
- Log in, if required.
- Under Holds, select the check box for hold items to be canceled.
- Click Edit Selected Holds.
- If you are editing a single hold, you can choose another Pickup Library from the list. If you are editing multiple holds, some possibly with different pickup libraries, you must first select the Pickup Library checkbox before making your selection.
- Select the Expiration Date checkbox to enable date modification.
- Select the Suspension Start Date checkbox to enable date modification.
- Select the Suspension End Date checkbox to enable date modification.
Note You can edit month and day by choosing selections from a drop-down list. You can edit the year by using arrows to the right of the box. You can also use the calendar icon to choose a date from a graphical calendar format.
Cancel a Hold
You can cancel a hold from My Library Account.
- Click Review My Library Account.
- Log in, if required.
- Under Holds, select the check box for hold items to be canceled.
- Click Remove Selected Holds.
If you haven't already logged in, you may be prompted to log when you attempt to change information in My Account. This login is only valid for the current transaction.
